Take your mission to an uncharted planet on the go. Journey to the Savage Planet is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
First released in January for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the game is set on an uncharted planet that your character must explore. Your main task is to catalog the different flora and fauna on the planet, and craft upgrades to search for new areas.
The story revolves around your character being a recruit for Kindred Aerospace, who must search the planet and figure out if it is suitable for human life. Even though the game may seem akin to more severe space operas, this game goes for a more comical route.
Even though it is light-hearted in tone, the game is full of deadly creatures that are more than happy to make you a meal.
Besides the gameplay, Journey to the Savage Planet stands out for its bright and colorful art style.
You can also explore the game with a buddy with the game’s online co-op. However, you will need a Nintendo Online account to play online.
Journey to the Savage Planet is the first game from Typhoon Studios, lead by Alex Hutchinson. Hutchinson’s previous work in game development includes Assassin’s Creed III and Far Cry 4.
Journey to the Savage Planet Takes the Action on the Go
As a first-person adventure space exploration game, it has clear inspiration for the likes of Metroid Prime and Far Cry. Given that the game’s focus on more low-key exploration, having the option to take it on the go is a serious plus.
The Nintendo Switch version of Journey to the Savage Planet is available now. It is currently for sale for $29.99. You will need to make some space on your SD card, as the game’s file size is at over two GB.
