Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep alum, will reunite with director Nicole Holofcener for the upcoming comedy film Beth & Don. Louis-Dreyfus will play a New York novelist, Beth, that has a seemingly happy marriage to her husband Don. One day she overhears her husband saying he hasn’t liked her writing in years; the confession threatens to undo her entire marriage.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Nicole Holofcener previously worked together on the film Enough Said; she was opposite James Gandolfini in the film. Holofcener’s directing includes Friends with Money and Walking and Talking. She has also been nominated for an Academy Award for Adapted Screenplay for Can You Forgive me?. Julia Louis-Dreyfus will produce the film on top of acting in it. Nicole Holofcener is writing the script and directing it. Together, Louis-Dreyfus and Holofcener may make another critically acclaimed film.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus Continuing with Her Comedy Roots
Julia Louis-Dreyfus came to fame as Elaine Benes on Seinfeld. Her quirky humor and weird dance moves became a fan-favorite. She earned two Golden Globe Award nominations, nine Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, and seven American Comedy Awards. Louis-Dreyfus acquired more fans as U.S. Vice President Selina Meyer in Veep. Louis-Dreyfus collected several Primetime Emmy Award nominations for her role in the series. She surpassed Candice Bergen and Don Knotts for the most consecutive Emmys for the same role in the same series. Beth & Don is not the only comedy film in Louis-Dreyfus’ filmography. The comedy dynamo has also starred in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Father’s Day, and A Bug’s Life.
Most recently Louis-Dreyfus became a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. She played Valentina Allegra de Fontaine; Marvel may have big plans for her character.
The filming for Beth & Don is set to begin in early spring 2022 in New York City.
