Have you ever wondered what you might look like if you were a character in your favorite manga or anime? Well, Bandai Namco’s newest fighting game, Jump Force, has you covered. While characters from popular shonens, like Naruto, Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh, Death Note, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach, and One Piece, are available in their roster, you’ll also be able to create your own customizable character!
Bandai Namco made the announcement during a conference at their headquarters in Tokyo. During the conference, they showcased a female avatar styled after Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, straw hat, facial scar, and all. As of this writing, there is no word on whether or not all of the mangas featured will offer customizable options.
However, the pre-order bonuses might lead to the answer. 3 customizable costume options are available for those who pre-order Jump Force: a Hokage cape from Naruto, One Piece’s Gol D. Roger, and a costume based on Dragon Ball’s Frieza. Along with the canon characters and your own character, there will also be a slew of original characters created by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama.
For those looking forward to Jump Force, Bandai Namco is offering a closed beta for the anime fighting game. Registration is open now and will run through October 7. The closed beta is set to take place October 12-14. They also recently announced a season pass and a Collector’s Edition — a $260 edition of Jump Force featuring a steel book case, a physical copy of the game, a 30cm tall diorama statue featuring Goku, Luffy, and Naruto, art boards, and other additional content.
Jump Force is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC in 2019.
