The original cast members of Jurassic Park shall make their return in Jurassic World 3: Dominion. Twenty-eight years ago the original film introduced to us the potential scope and technological future of the Hollywood film industry. From the lifelike animatronics to one of the best intros to CGI graphics that a 90’s kid could ask for. Yes, that is a reference to the ‘Welcome to Jurassic Park’ scene that is joined by the swelling and epic John Williams score. It is a callback that we all have been waiting for.
New Additions to Jurassic World 3
Much in the same vein as the conclusion to The Lost World, the dinosaurs (this time more than two) have made their way onto the United States mainland. Sam Neill will be reprising his role as Alan Grant, Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm, Laura Dern as Ellie Sattler, and BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu. Although the cast list for Dominion shows zero signs of Timmy and Lex, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas shall be making a return as well.
Laura Dern initially alluded to the Jurassic Park reunion in an interview:
We all took it very seriously, but we really did create home as a group. And that was amazing. I mean, it was amazing to not just have one scene or one moment together, as you might do in an experience of a reunion, which I’ve had a couple of times in my life with other people I’ve worked with or projects. But this was really about coming together as a family, given the times that we are all living in together now. So that made it profoundly memorable.”
Unforeseen Problems
The filming of Jurassic World 3 has struggled to get through production from the beginning. Production initially struggled and slowed down production due to Covid 19. Essentially when a Hollywood production is planned upon, it is budgeted into a set amount of time. Since delays and precautions have added to the production schedule, more money is being dished out to prolong the production and pay those involved. In addition, it has been stated that an extra 5 million was spent on safety measures alone. Here’s hoping to box office success. Jurassic World 3: Dominion is planned to hit theaters (or homes) on June 10, 2022.
