As the days go by during new releases and in between droughts of original titles, oftentimes gaming can feel disposable. It’s not because these experiences are forgettable or bad in any way, rather they start to blend in. Yet, there are always titles that find a new niche to squeeze right into and Askiisoft certainly has found that space. Releasing Katana Zero in April of 2019 seems so very long ago as the world has changed so much. Yet, developer Askiisoft hasn’t forgotten about his promise for the future of his indie title. Discussed in a blog post today, Askiisoft explained how much larger the Katana Zero DLC has become.

What is being added to Katana Zero?
Teasing tidbits of new information and gifs, Askiisoft has always been teasing new info bit by bit through his Twitter since the September update. Discussing the plans for his passion project, the hopeful and ambitious expansion has been taking shape. Now finally getting a better look at the upcoming government lab, fans now have an in-depth look at what’s to come. With the story of Katana Zero leaving on a cliffhanger, the DLC has a lot of potential for new story beats. Though, with the structure of the base game’s story, it’s sure to leave players guessing.
Showcasing some fancy gifs of new enemy types and weapons for Zero to use, there’s plenty new to explore. The DLC expansion is also remaining free for all owners of the base game. Even though there still isn’t a tentative release, Justin has assured that all of the planning has been completed. With only the development left, the DLC is in full production and we should hear more news about a date later this year. While there is still more to come after the DLC to officially conclude and follow up the story of the first, the title has come a long way.
