Kathie Lee Gifford’s Thanksgiving Plans, Tradition, and Recipe
The tv veteran also discussed her holiday activities with Fox. She likes the thanksgiving holiday, particularly because it’s about gratitude. The actress/author’s way of making the period memorable is to make all the dishes that her late mother, Joan Epstein, taught her to cook.
She admitted that thanksgiving is the only day of the year she actually enters the kitchen to cook. Her mother was a great cook who didn’t know how to cook until she was 19.
However, Joan taught her kids all of her amazing recipes, and even though the NBC Today host is a “rebel,” she still follows her mom’s recipe to the letter. While Kathie Lee Gifford discussed her thanksgiving plan and tradition with Fox, she disclosed that she hates following the rules.
As a child, the actress got kicked out of the Girls’ scout and America’s Junior Miss Pageant. However, she stated that it’d be unwise of her not to make her mother’s Thanksgiving meal flawlessly.
Kathie’s Thanksgiving Meal is Only Shared with People Special to Her
Kathie Lee Gifford plans to make her mom’s thanksgiving meals for people she “absolutely loves.” According to her, she hates “big bash Thanksgivings.”
She feels it should be small and intimate, hence, the need to have only loved ones around. As a part of the tradition, the Daytime Emmy Award winner pointed out that prayer is very important.
She begins every dinner with a prayer before asking the family special questions to help reflect on God’s goodness during the year. Then everyone is also asked about their expectations for the coming year.
Family is everything, and celebrating such moments together builds the bond. It reflects in Kathie Lee Gifford’s thanksgiving plan.
