Batman is going to be officially introduced in the Arrowverse during “Crisis on Infinite Earths”. Well, sort of.
While at TCA 2019, CW announced that Kevin Conroy, best known for his voice acting work as the Dark Knight in Batman: The Animated Series and various other Batman projects, will play a future version of Bruce Wayne in “Crisis on Infinite Earths”.
This is a major announcement for CW as they have been unable to use the Batman character outside of a few sly references and in Batwoman’s backstory. Now, it should be said that CW has yet to say if Conroy will actually don the cowl in the crossover or if they are only going to use the Bruce Wayne aspect of the character. Conroy has played a future version of Bruce Wayne before in the Batman Beyond animated series. Maybe this is more in line of what we could see from Bruce Wayne in “Crisis on Infinite Earths”.
Conroy also has a connection with another actor in the Arrowverse, Mark Hamill. For those few who aren’t aware, Mark Hamill voiced The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series and various other DC animated projects. In the Arrowverse, Hamill plays James Jesse/The Trickster, one of the many villains on The Flash who shares a few characteristics with the Clown Prince of Crime. Pure speculation on this writer’s part but it would be awesome to see Hamill return for “Crisis on Infinite Earths” to portray a version of The Joker. This would allow Conroy and Hamill to duke it out once more, this time in live-action.

CW also revealed a few more things regarding “Crisis on Infinite Earths”. The network officially announced that Black Lightning and the cast from the show would be included in the crossover. Along with that, the full schedule for the 5-part mega-crossover event was also announced, and it may disappoint some that wanted to binge it all in a week:
- Part 1: Supergirl – December 8th, 2019 at 8:00 PM EST
- Part 2: Batwoman – December 9th, 2019 at 8:00 PM EST
- Part 3: The Flash – December 10th, 2019 at 8:00 PM EST
Here’s where things get a little dicey. Like many have speculated, “Crisis on Infinite Earths” will be split up across the mid-season break. So, we will all have to wait until 2020 to see how it all ends:
- Part 4: Arrow – January 14th, 2020 at 8:00 PM EST
- Part 5: Legends of Tomorrow – January 14th, 2020 at 9:00 PM EST
