Nothing gets brought into the fold of Marvel’s juggernaut franchise for no reason. In a new featurette that gives a peak behind the curtain of Werewolf By Night, Kevin Feige has teased the upcoming Halloween special’s importance to the MCU. As we have gotten more horror and supernatural elements, it seems we may get some darker areas coming up in the future.
“We are introducing a world that will ultimately become quite important to the future of the MCU,” he cryptically said.
We are still in the early stages of the Multiverse Saga. Between Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Moon Knight, the upcoming Blade movie, and Werewolf By Night, the MCU is exploring supernatural and horror elements. While it is unclear what the importance of it is, for horror fans, it is a welcome offering of superhero spookiness.
The featurette also gives us a look at the making of the special. We see what the costumes and sets looked like without the black and white filter and people attached to the project talking about this creative breath of fresh air for the MCU.
Werewolf By Night importance to the MCU teased by Kevin Feige
With this Halloween special being the directorial debut of Michael Giacchino, an acclaimed composer of films from Pixar, Marvel, and more, and this marking the first special done by Marvel Studios, it will be quite the event. Done in a black and white style, we will see a new creative effort from the crew and Kevin Feige with Werewolf By Night.
Between D23 and Comic Con, we have most of the outline of what’s to come in Phase 5 and 6. There are plenty of blank spots in Phase 6, and Marvel is known for changing things as it sees fit, like moving Armor Wars from a series to a movie. Still, we have to look forward to a new section of the MCU to open with Werewolf By Night. We have the street level with characters like Daredevil, the cosmic with Guardians of the Galaxy, and now the supernatural with Moon Knight and soon Blade.
Werewolf By Night hits Disney+ on October 7.
