The Games Operators publishing company has launched a new Kickstarter campaign for something more serious in the video game world. Entitled Medic: Pacific War, players will assume the role of a soldier with nothing but medical supplies.
Decide Who Lives and Who Dies in Medic: Pacific War
With additional development by Hypnotic Ants, Medic: Pacific War implements a different twist for war-based titles. Instead of using a rifle, you will only need your medical supplies and expertise as you run into battle to save dying brothers in arms. But unfortunately, there is a horrible variety of wounds that these men will suffer from. Gunshot wounds, broken bones, missing limbs, burnt skin, there’s no limit to what you will witness. And depending on the severity of the wound, some men might not make it out alive. That decision is solely up to you.
Medic: Pacific War is presented through a third-person action perspective, giving the player a full view of the battlefield around them. Inspired by countless war films, shows, and documentaries set around World War II, the horrors that players will experience are as true as they can be in the gaming world. Not only must you attend to the aforementioned wounds up close and personal, but the war will not cease. Bullets will fly overhead, bombs will fall, and fire will ignite – it’s up to you to save these men within this dreadful theater of war.
Everything designed in detail, based on proven references – we contacted experts, real medics, historians, we’ve read many books, articles, and reports from the period in which the game’s events happen.” – Medic: Pacific War Kickstarter Page
