Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City) has been attached to star in the Netflix drama series Glamorous, as reported by Variety. She will play as a makeup mogul who has a new, young employee.
Starring Kim Cattrall in the Netflix series will be YouTuber and actress Miss Benny (Love, Victor). Benny will play a gender non-conforming queer person, Marco Mejia, who goes to work with Cattrall’s Madolyn Addison. It will serve as an exploration of Benny’s character when it comes to their identity and future career.
The series is slated to run for ten episodes. It will begin filming this July in Toronto. Jordon Nardino (Star Trek: Discovery) will executive produce and write the series. Damon Wayans Jr. and Kameron Tarlow will executive produce too. CBS is producing.
Kim Cattrall Before Netflix
Before signing up for the Netflix series, Kim Cattrall made a name for herself by starring in Sex and the City, which ran from 1998 to 2004. She reprised her role as Samantha Jones for the two movies released in 2008 and 2010. A third movie was brought up, but she declined to reprise the role in 2017. She was nominated for five Emmies during that stint for the original series.
Recently, she narrated Hilary Duff’s character, Sophie, in Hulu’s How I Met Your Father. The series also starred Christopher Lowell (Promising Young Woman), Francia Raisa (Grown-ish), Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi), Tom Ainsley (The Royals), and Tien Tran (Candyman). The Sex and the City star also was in Peacock’s Queer as Folk with Fin Argus (Total Eclipse), Jesse James Keitel (Big Sky), Ryan O’Connell (The Baby-Sitters Club), Johnny Sibilly (Hacks), and Devin Way (Grey’s Anatomy).
Up next, she will be in About My Father. The upcoming comedy will also star Robert de Niro, Leslie Bibb (The Babysitter: Killer Queen), Anders Holm (Workaholics), David Rasche (Succession), and Brett Dier (Jane the Virgin).
