The San Francisco based media outlet Kinda Funny officially launched its first Xbox-specific program this past weekend. Titled Xcast, the program is a podcast dedicated to providing the latest news and all relevant discussions surrounding Microsoft’s Xbox. As the newest host at Kinda Funny loves to say, it’s time to get hype!
Who’s Who at Xcast
In a cool twist, Xcast will not feature any of Kinda Funny’s founding members. Leading the show will be SnowBike Mike, a popular Twitch streamer and a Kinda Funny Best Friend. SnowBike Mike, a lifelong Xbox player, possesses an out of this world passion for Xbox, its games, and its developers. The jovial sincerity of his words oozes through screens and out of headphones throughout the show’s entire debut episode.
Joining him will be the games media veteran, Alanah Pearce. You’ll know Pearce from her past work at IGN and her current efforts at Funhaus and Inside Gaming. If that doesn’t jog your memory, you’ll probably recognize Pearce from her YouTube channel. We recommend that you check out her Play, Watch, Listen series. Rest assured Rooster Teeth fans, despite her presence on Xcast, Pearce is not planning on leaving Funhaus or Inside Gaming.
Rounding out the trio is the Rogue One writer, Gary Whitta. Whitta, the writer of The Book of Eli and co-writer of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, has been with Kinda Funny for nearly three years. Recently Whitta has been reshaping the late-night talk show scene with his hit Animal Crossing program Animal Talking.
Together the dynamic personalities blend wonderfully. While the hosts themselves deserve tremendous praise for being awesome individuals, applause must also be given to the show’s director, Barrett Courtney. Courtney, who has directed and coordinated shows with both Kinda Funny and IGN, can be found throughout KF’s media and on his personal Twitch channel.

When and Where to Catch the Show
As stated, the first episode of the Xcast podcast launched this past weekend, on July 18. The show is formatted similarly to other Kinda Funny programs like PS I Love You XOXO and Kinda Funny Games Daily. However, given that Xcast is a pilot program, its time slot is different than most other KF products.
The podcast will go live each Saturday at 6:00 AM Pacific Time. You’ll be able to find the show on YouTube and podcast services around the globe. Xcast is scheduled to run for six weeks. That said, it’s unlikely that the Kinda Funny Best Friends will allow the show to go away after the testing phase.
