Kingdom Hearts 3 is just a mere two weeks away in the US and Square Enix has been releasing small teases for the game via Twitter. This week, Square Enix revealed all of the Keyblade designs that will be available in Kingdom Hearts 3. Many of the Keyblade designs can be viewed below.
In Kingdom Hearts 3, every world that Sora and friends visit will have a Keyblade themed after that Disney franchise. Tangled, Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters Inc., Toy Story, Hercules, Winnie the Poo, Big Hero 6, and Frozen Keys all look unique and distinct to their respective worlds, bringing a fresh flavor to combat by attaining each blade. Two other high-quality images were shown of the iconic Kingdom Key and one variant of the Shooting Star Keyblade. Neither of these Keys relate to a particular world and are original designs for the Kingdom Hearts series.
I stated that there was just one variant of the Shooting Star Keyblade because, depending on where you preorder Kingdom Hearts 3, you can receive a special version of Shooting Star. The Shooting Star Keyblade will have a green coat of paint if purchased on the Xbox One, whereas on PlayStation 4 it will be tinted a light blue color. Finally, the Dusk till Dawn Keyblade was announced as a preorder bonus for purchasing via Amazon. The Dusk Till Dawn blade looks very similar to the Kingdom Key with only a different hilt to set it apart.
There still may be some keys yet to be revealed and left as a surprise for fans to unlock. Keys like Oathkeeper and Oblivion are both so iconic to the series, that it wouldn’t be shocking if they are available during the late game of Kingdom Hearts 3. Which Keyblade are you most excited to unlock and use in Kingdom Hearts 3? Be sure to leave a comment below and tell us what you think!
Kingdom Hearts 3 launches on Jan. 29, 2019 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
