Kirby reigns supreme once again! The pink puffball debuted his newest adventure game only a few short weeks ago. And yet, he hasn’t left the top of the leaderboard since. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the next Switch iteration of Kirby’s antics, and it brings a lot to the table. With so many worlds to explore, it’s Kirby’s largest adventure yet. The game brings something special to the table. And Japanese fans seem to agree. As of this week, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is number 1 in the Japanese game rankings for the third straight week since release.
What Did Kirby Do Right This Time?
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a truly unique experience, one worth its high ranking. The game offers a gaggle of new features which revitalize the whole Kirby experience. The power to upgrade copy abilities multiple times gives a fresh new feel to classic powers. It also allows players to customize their playstyle, as each is slightly different. Mouthful Mode is the game’s gimmick, but it provides some interesting gameplay as well. It ties into level challenges surrounding captured Waddle Dees. As players use their wit and some Mouthful antics to find the Hidden Waddle Dees, it expands the gameplay journey even more.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land also offers expansive post-game and copy ability-centric time trials to spice things up. All in all, it’s an incredibly strong game for the series. This forgotten land is filled with lore and just plain polish. If you’re a fan of Kirby or even something like Mario, this is the game for you. And the Japanese game rankings about this Kirby title give it a lot of credit. If this keeps trending, we might see it stay at the top for a whole month or more. And with no major Nintendo releases for a while, it’s a real possibility.
