Beauty mogul Kylie Jenner had quite a spat on social media that spun back and forth. The reality star took it upon herself to set the records straight for makeup artist and beauty influencer Kevin James Bennett. Bennett heavily criticized one of her latest posts, which did not sit well with Kylie.
The makeup artist had shared a lengthy social media post addressing one of Kylie Jenner’s Instagram uploads where she seemed to be promoting her makeup line. Bennett’s series of complaints were targeted at Kylie’s safety practices. This was because she took some photos in what appeared to be a laboratory.
Bennett Accused Kylie Jenner Of ‘Gaslighting’ Fans
Bennett called out the credibility of Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetic franchise. He referenced a post where she was clad in a laboratory coat while her hair came down in waves and down her shoulders. The media influencer accused her of neglecting the safety rules of manufacturing as he shared:
“I’m a cosmetic developer and work with cosmetic manufacturers (and their labs) as part of my job. I have very short hair, and I’ve NEVER been allowed into the lab or onto the manufacturing floor without a hair net, shoe covers, mask…and disposable GLOVES.”
After alluding that the KUWTK alum did not follow a proper dress code, he accused her of “gaslighting her followers into thinking she is creating cosmetics.” The makeup guru noted that he would like to know the “ignorant manufacturer” who let Kylie set up a photo-op in the manufacturing area.
The beauty pro shared that he wanted to make sure his clients never worked with such manufacturers. At the end of his critical address, Bennett included an #ShameOnYou.
What Did Kylie Have To Say?
The mom-of-two took to the comment section of Bennett’s post, which he has since locked. Kylie wasted no time retorting while stating that her photo was not taken in a laboratory. Kylie included:
”I would never bypass sanitary protocols and neither would any other celeb or beauty brand owner. That’s completely unacceptable, I agree.”
She described her location in the photo as “a small personal space” where she created “fun samples” and took photos for content. Kylie emphasized that customers were not at risk. She ended her address by shaming Bennett for “spreading false information.”
