Lady Gaga has secured herself as one of the most formidable forces in music, and her most recent hit single, Hold My Hand, has now been officially submitted to the Oscars committee for Best Original Song. Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand appears on the soundtrack for the ultra-successful Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise. The latest Top Gun film hit theatres in May of this year.
Though not the singer’s biggest hit, Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand was in heavy rotation on the radio and did well on the Billboard charts. Lady Gaga wrote the single with Michael Tucker and also released an aviation-themed music video for it.
If the song grabs a nomination, it will be Lady Gaga’s fourth overall nomination at the Academy Awards and her third nomination for Best Original Song. If she wins, it will be her second trophy from the awards show.
Nominations for the 95th Academy Awards will come out on January 24th of next year.
Lady Gaga Has A Busy Career
As most know, Lady Gaga will co-star in The Joker 2 alongside Joaquin Phoenix. According to sources, the cast will begin filming next month, and the movie should arrive in theatres in 2024. If the early information is correct, The Joker 2 will be a musical, and Lady Gaga will play a Harley Quinn-like character. Joker: Folie a Deux will be directed by Todd Phillips.
Lady Gaga also recently completed her first stadium tour. The Chromatica Ball wrapped on September 17th after 20 shows. The tour grossed $112.4 million, which is a huge success and shows that Lady Gaga is still one of the world’s biggest pop stars despite now also acting. There are also rumors that the singer is recording new music.
