The latest one among its most advanced supercars in the world, Lamborghini’s Aventador is packed with super performance and is being touted as the best supercar produced by the company till date! It is phenomenally quick, amazingly angular and is awe-inspiring in a certain primal way. Besides all these qualities, it is also far more refined and comfortable compared to its predecessors.
Lamborghinis are the ultimate toys for those who enjoy super speed and luxury, and this latest offering of the company is guaranteed to impress every Lamborghini lover throughout the world! Let’s throw light on its tech details that you should know about.
An Overview
Under its attention-grabbing exterior that resembles a stealth jet fighter, the Aventador features a carbon fibre chassis, teaming up with several aluminum and carbon components, in an effort to keep its weight down. All such measures have helped Aventador lose plenty of weight and be 200 pounds lighter than its predecessors. However, at slightly over 4000 pounds, it can’t be counted amongst the lightest cars out there!
Any concerns about its weight are put to rest once you experience its absurdly potent and operatic V12 engine. It boasts of a lofty 8500 redline and displaces an impressive 6.5 litres, to create 691 hp and 509 lb-ft torque at an amazing RPM of 5,500.
Combine that power with its Haldex all-wheel-drive technology and you get 0- 62 mph in as less as 2.9 seconds, with a 217 mph top speed! These figures easily put Aventador ahead of anything produced by Lamborghini till date, and among the most impressive supercars in the world.
The gear shifting duties of the supercar are handled by an automated 7-speed single-clutch manual gearbox which Lamborghini calls robotized Independent Shifting Rods (ISR) transmission. Having the capability to shift gears in as less as 50 ms, you might feel a little herky-jerky if you travel at low speeds in this beauty. As per the manufacturer, they used ISR to shed some extra weight, as against a dual-clutch unit.
Standard Tech Is Back
You get all the extensive standard features in the car, including electronic controls ASR, ABS, ESC, EBD, electronically-controlled rear spoiler, hill holder function, servotronic, electronically-handled side air intake system and an integrated command featuring three distinct driving modes, which integrate servotronic, engine response, differential, and gearbox simultaneously.
Some of its vehicle and interior standard features are: full TFT cockpit displays, USB interface, Bluetooth, LED daytime running lights, keyless ignition, onboard computer, start/stop pushbutton, rain sensors, automatic air conditioning, bi-xenon headlights, a multimedia system featuring 7-inch display, heated side mirrors that fold by themselves and an iPod interface.
Lamborghini has also incorporated a new-age suspension system in this car, using a push rod technology, inspired from Formula One racing. When combined with double wishbone suspension, it results in precise handling even in the most dynamic driving conditions, delivering luxurious comfort even when you’re cruising on an open highway!
