The racing genre in gaming has been a bit quiet as of late. While we have giants like Mario Kart, Gran Turismo, and Forza, there are always people out there who want more. LEGO seems to have heard this and is already preparing to launch its racing game. With pre-orders available, LEGO 2K Drive is set to launch on May 19, 2023. The game will have an open world, over 1000 pieces to create vehicles, and more. However, one thing that players are not too happy with is the fact that LEGO 2K Drive will have a cash shop. This could be a turndown for players, but we understand it is the trend that many games are following nowadays.
LEGO 2K Drive will feature a cash shop with cosmetics, minifigures, and more
This isn’t something that should deter you from buying the game. In the end, LEGO titles have always turned out great due to how creative and fun they are. In fact, they have some of the best humor in games that is aimed at both young and old audiences. However, the information about a cash shop coming to LEGO 2K Drive worries some people. We don’t think it’ll be a pay-to-win situation, but it might as well be. We’ll have to wait for the release.

With how customizable the game will be and the premium cars coming in some editions of the game, the shop will have some of these things and more. As confirmed by 2K, you’ll be able to acquire minifigures, car parts, and more with in-game currency and real money. Again, this is all speculation, and in the end, the cash shop of LEGO 2k Drive could be just for pieces, and that’s it. Still, we think the game is looking great so far, and we can’t wait to play it when it launches on May 19, 2023.
