It was the second day for the biggest fighting game competition Evolution Tournament (EVO) 2019. As day two had been coming to a close so were all other titles such including Tekken 7 tournament – which had brought some significant hype. With a total of 850+ contenders the fight for the top 8 of the world was ongoing. Some pretty impressive match-ups ensued with such fights: Arslan Ash vs Noroma or Lowhigh vs Anakin. Out of all the fights for the semi-final spot an oddity occurs.

Lil Majin verse Noroma in a rematch for the losers bracket spot at top 8. Last years EVO in 2018 the same fight for the exact place for the top 8 except they were both in the winning bracket. Lil Majin, probably one of the best King players in the world, beat Noroma in a close, nail biter fight back in 2018. Now, was Noroma’s vengeance and boy was it tight but swift.
Right from the start, Lil Majin and Noroma clashed by playing a really tight game. Both players met for the final round and with two dodge rolls, a grab, and an epic crouch punch, Lil Majin takes the first win. Alas, second match was taken by Noroma brutally swift as he demolished Lil Majin. Then, the final fight was leaning more toward Noroma and Lil Majin was coming attempting to make a comeback but ultimately bit the dust.
Although Lil Majin didn’t make it to the top 8 it has always been a thrill to watch how well he had played King. Noroma with his Dragonauv was also interesting to watch as you could tell he probably practiced a bunch against King to counter his moves.
Tekken 7 top 8 will take place 3:30 pm PST on Twitch. EVO Tournament 2019 day 3 will also be streaming other tournaments such as Street Fighter V, Mortal Kombat 11, Super Smash Ultimate, and much more.
