Lil Rel Howery will get on the stage once more for his new HBO comedy special, Variety has reported. It will record in his hometown of Chicago within the next few weeks. The show will premiere on both HBO and HBO Max.
The collaboration with the company for a standup show will mark the second time for the comedian and actor. His first premiered in 2019, titled Lil Rel Howery: Live in Crenshaw, which was an hour long. It is uncertain the length of the Chicago show.

Going off stage, Lil Rel Howery has become a notable actor. His most recognizable role was TSA agent Rod Williams in Jordan Peele’s horror debut, Get Out, where he delivered much-needed levity to relieve the tension. He also became the hero by the end of the film, delivering a crowd-pleasing conclusion to the 2017 Oscar-winning film. Other notable projects have been Friends of the People, The Carmichael Show, Insecure, Bird Box, Good Boys, The Angry Birds Movies 2, Tom & Jerry, and Free Guy.
Acting has been a nonstop job for Lil Rel Howery since starring opposite Daniel Kaluuya in Get Out. This year, he will appear in Bromates and The Out-Laws. He will lend his voice with Zachary Levi (Shazam!) in Harold and the Purple Crayon next year. He is lined up to star in Reunion with Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), Chace Crawford (The Boys), and Billy Magnussen (No Time to Die). The comedian will star in The Come Up with Jermaine Fowley (Coming 2 America). He is announced to star alongside Don Cheadle (Avengers: Endgame) in Black Stallions.
