Love Is Blind’s shocking reunion delay is finally explained. As you may or may not know, there was a reunion for season 4 of Love is Blind that was set to air on Netflix. Then when everyone sat down to watch it, up popped a message basically saying, “Hang in there, we’re working on it.” This actually caused the live reunion to be delayed. To say people lost their minds is underselling it.
And since it happened, everyone’s been talking about the how and the why. Well, Netflix has come forward and attempted to explain what went wrong. They also let people know they are implementing things that will ensure that never happens again.
Love Is Blind’s Shocking Reunion Delay Finally Explained
Via Screenrant:
“During a Q1 earnings interview, via Variety, Netflix CEOs Greg Peters and Ted Sarandos came clean about what the issue was. ‘We’re really sorry to disappoint so many people,’ Peters said, revealing, ‘We had just a bug that we introduced, actually, when we implemented some changes to try to improve live-streaming performance after the last live broadcast.’ Peters added that the bug wasn’t detected during internal testing, and it wasn’t apparent until Netflix ‘put multiple systems interacting with each other under the load of millions of people trying to watch Love Is Blind.’ He insisted that Netflix ‘[does] have the fundamental infrastructure,’ and ‘we’ll learn from it and will get better.’”
We will also say there are people who say the delay was intentional. Why? Because it got people talking about this show. Even people who never saw it got sucked into the drama. Moreover, when the whole world is tweeting about your show, good or bad, that’s engagement. When a million people online are talking about your show, that’s a win. Either way, it’s good to at least finally have some context as to why the reunion was delayed. And again, it got everyone talking about the show, so it actually helped the show, believe it or not.
Now the question is can it hold this momentum?
