StarCrossed developed by Contigo Games and published by Whitehorn Digital. The game adopts a magical theme, with mechanics similar to that of old-school space shooters. It was first released on Steam on February 11 of this year.
There are five unique characters to choose from, each ready to execute their own special ability. With the split controller option, players can enlist the help of a friend as they travel across the stars.
Players can also choose from two modes: Story Mode and Arcade Mode.
Story Mode – travel through StarCrossed as a Guardian, protecting everyone from those who would threaten their safety. Whether you play solo or with a friend, changing your Guardians will change the experience of saving the Nova Galaxy.
Arcade Mode – an endless version where players test their endurance against threats to the Nova Galaxy. The longer a player lasts, the faster things will get. With an integrated leaderboard, players will be able to challenge each other’s times.
Players will wield a star and bounce it between them and their partner. While it sounds simple, good timing is extremely important in achieving victory. Proper timing will allow the execution of a StarBoost, increasing the size and speed of your ‘weapon.’ Repeatedly doing this will charge your character’s special attack.
StarCrossed comes with an original soundtrack put together by PearlPixel. You may know their work from titles such as VR title Zed, mobile titles Hibachi Hero, and Crafting Life.
If you’re exclusively a console player, you are in luck. On April 20, 2020, StarCrossed will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. There are plans for a PlayStation 4 release, but there is no confirmed day. But we know that it will be releasing sometime in 2020. Will you be rocketing through the stars? Let us know in the comments!
