If you thought the Nintendo Labo was not getting enough love, then think again. Nintendo has recently given Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a compatibility update with Nintendo Labo.
The Nintendo Labo has been out since April 2o, 2018 with two individual Labo kits available for the public at launch. One kit called the Robot Kit, allows the player to create their own mecha suit and explore a virtual world. It is Nintendo’s own VR per say, as this kit includes a visor that lets the player be a giant robot to rampage through a fictional city.
The second kit offered is the Variety Kit, which allows players to construct various objects with cardboard cutaways. While it does not offer the Robot Kit’s VR experience, it does allow to engage in different mini-games. With this kit, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe owners are able to use cardboard handlebars as an alternative to the joy-con wheels or even the joy-con themselves. Nintendo has posted an official trailer demonstrating how you can use this kit to enjoy a more dynamic experience as you dash your way to first place.

The update is now available to download, and any eager racer should definitely check this out. The Nintendo Labo Variety Kit is currently selling in local and online retailers for $69.99, while the Robot Kit’s current price is $79.99. If you can’t wait to get your hands on another Mario title, Nintendo has recently released Mario Tennis Aces for the Nintendo Switch.
