Nintendo has officially announced the first wave of the new content Mario Strikers: Battle League, which will see the addition of Princess Daisy and Shy Guy to the roster as well as other updates. The free update will be available on Thursday, July 21, 2022, and Nintendo confirmed that players can expect two more updates arrive before the end of 2022.
Mario Strikers: Battle League Princess Daisy, Shy Guy, and New Armor Updates
The new Mario Strikers: Battle League update will finally bring fan-favorite Princess Daisy to the game, along with Joining Daisy is Shy Guy, one of Bower’s minions.
Daisy is described as a technique-type player who can’t be knocked down. She summons flowers to the pitch in her Super Strike move, launching the opposing team into the air. Shy Guy is an all-rounder “whose gear choices are key” to success. His Super Strike turns him into a spinning projectile.
Nintendo also announced the addition of new cosmetics to Mario Strikers: Battle League, including a knight-themed gear set and the new Desert Ruin stadium, which will arrive on July 21, 2022, along with Daisy and Shy Guy. When equipped, the Knight Gear will increase the strength and shooting attributes of the character at the cost of other attributes.
With the addition of Daisy and Shy Guy, the game’s full roster now includes Mario, Bowser, Luigi, Peach, Rosalina, Yoshi, Toad, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Waluigi for a total of 12 characters. While no other characters have been confirmed at this time, Nintendo has teased more free updates for the future, which may see the addition of new characters alongside Daisy and Shy Guy.
The previous entry, Mario Strikers Charged for Wii, also had Bowser Jr., Diddy Kong, Petey Piranha, Hammer Bro, Koopa Troopa, Birdo, Boo, Dry Bones, and Monty Mole, so it is possible some of these characters may see a return, but only time will tell.
