In honor of the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Blu-Ray coming March 27th, the Star Wars Legacy Twitter page released a little taste of what fans can expect to see on the disc. It’s a short video depicting how that iconic Yoda surprise scene was filmed for “The Last Jedi”, with Frank Oz managing the little, green Jedi’s puppet. As the scene was being shot, Mark Hamill stood near watching two of his good friends–Jedi and human alike–perform.
“It’s really getting to me,” Hamill said. You could tell he was getting emotional during the scene; him saying it just solidified the emotional impact playing Luke Skywalker has had on him over the years. Both him and Frank Oz have a lot of history working together, so when he found out that a Yoda scene was going to be filmed… I’m sure he jumped on the opportunity to witness it. Check out the video below.

Oz was alerted to Hamill’s presence, and the two embraced as old friends do. “I am still jealous he hasn’t aged a day,” he went on to joke with his friend. What a moment to witness, especially since both Hamill and Oz are most likely done portraying their iconic characters on the big screen.
The Blu-Ray release will feature more moments you missed in the theater than that though. It’ll have 14 deleted scenes. Director Rian Johnson hasn’t hinted at what exactly these scenes will be, only that he made a lot of cuts during production for time and pace.
In addition to the deleted scenes, the Blu-Ray release will also have two behind-the-scenes featurettes: “The Director and the Jedi” and “Balance of the Force.” The former will focus on Johnson’s journey making the film, while the latter will be his interpretation of it.
And, finally, there’ll be three scene breakdowns, one of which will focus on Snoke.
