Martina Navratilova Is Cancer-Free But She Was Once In “Total Panic”
Martina Navratilova is cancer-free and friends, family, and fans are jubilant over the food news. But the tennis pro got candid about the time leading up to her doctor’s latest pronouncement.
While her body does not have any cancer, she has been scheduled for radiation therapy that would last for two weeks.
Speaking about the initial diagnosis, the world tennis champ explained that she had her fears. Amid the doctors reassuring her that her illness was treatable, death crossed her mind.
In her words:
“I was in a total panic for three days thinking I may not see next Christmas. The bucket list came into my mind of all the things I wanted to do.”
She began to prepare herself for the end. The 66-year-old said she considered driving a “kick-ass car” before her last breath. She also listened to Elton John’s music.
But Navratilova was the only one living in fear. Her partner, Julia Lemigova put up a brave front. She was ready to support the tennis pro and did not allow emotions get the best of her.
