Despite approaching the end of the line, Marvel’s Avengers released a new Thor skin giving the character a classic look by channeling prehistoric Odin, with his signature winged helmet also included.
Marvel Avengers Adds New Thor Skin
Two years after trying to connect with fans through the video game, Marvel Avengers has struggled miserably. In response to these unexpected turn of events, Crystal Dynamics revealed that the game would be delisted later this year. All support for the post-launch period would also be removed.
To calm fans before a difficult goodbye, the creators have been releasing new skins over the past week. These included the release of the new Iron Man and Black widow skin. It seems as if the studios are making one last attempt to push fans to try out the game before it’s finally pulled from shelves.
It was reported on Marvel’s Avengers Twitter account that the new update 2.8 will be available on March 31st, 2023. All players would receive Thor’s 1,000,000 B.C. outfit for free as Phoenix Force to battle Dark Celestial Zgreb, the Aspirant. The costume is inspired by prehistoric Odin, Thor’s father, to give it a more traditional look.
Initially, fans were excited to hear about the new Marvel game being launched. Everyone was looking forward to taking control of the adored superhero squad. Still, due to poor launch execution, unappetizing gameplay, and loss of appeal, they’ve decided to delist the title.
Even though all previously promised content still hasn’t been released by Marvel’s Avengers, the new Thor and Iron Man skins are a sad farewell gift. The fans are nonetheless optimistic about it.
