New York City Comic Con is in full effect this weekend and amid some major announcements, one significant one comes from the Marvel Panel as they have announced that everyone’s favorite X-Man, Wolverine, is once again getting his own solo comic adventure! Marvel made this announcement at their Dawn of X panel at NYCC yesterday. They announced the creative team behind the series will be Benjamin Percy as the writer and being drawn by the team of Adam Kubert and Viktor Bogdanovic. This will be the first solo adventure of Wolverine since the 2014 Death of Wolverine story arc.

At the panel, Marvel stated that it has been planning on making the biggest changes in the X-Men universe in 20 years with the twin titles of House of X and Power of X making enormous changes that might affect the whole Marvel timeline. Those books will be followed by the Dawn of X arc that will reshape the iconic franchise. Wolverine won’t be in the initial series, but writer Johnathan Hickman has confirmed that there will be multiple X-Men focused books in these arcs coming out within the next few years.
As stated before, this is going to be Wolverine’s first solo outing since being resurrected following his death. He’s even featured in some of Marvel’s cosmic adventures such as Wolverine: Infinity Watch, where he teamed with Loki to chase after the Infinity Stones (which gained sentience following the comics Infinity Wars). As if this writing, there hasn’t been a release date for the new series.
