The end of Marvel’s Avengers was something many fans saw coming before it was announced. It is a bittersweet event for many reasons. It is a sad time because now, one of the most down-to-earth, fun multiplayer Marvel games has ended, while all other Marvel games out now and coming out in the future are all single-player. However, one of the game things about the game losing support is that they plan to keep multiplayer up for as long as possible, and almost every item in the game is now made free.
The Endgame has Happened for Marvel’s Avengers with Last Update
Marvel Avengers is a battling game that also houses many story modes with our favorite superheroes. Over time, we continued to get a lot more heroes added to the game, two of the most recent ones being Ms. Marvel and The Winter Soldier. However, fans started to notice that the developers were adding a lot more skins than characters here toward the end, which then created concern about the future of the game.
It came out about a month or so ago that Marvel’s Avengers would be getting its last update, which it did, yesterday. The update features some last fixes as well as making in-game items free. Access to the Marketplace is now basically completely unrestricted, which means almost every MCU and also not MCU-inspired bonus skins are now free. You can also get emotes, takedowns, and nameplates for free as well. But, items that are earned through the story campaign and whatnot still remain only unlockable by playing the game. Any item that was once a paid item is now free in the game.
Marvel’s Avengers will hopefully still have a life ahead of it as it will still have multiplayer, but it is really heartbreaking to see such an amazing game leave. The game is available for purchase on PS5, PC, and on Xbox via GamePass.
