Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be getting a prequel comic book that will be released in retail stores in the US and digitally before the release of the main game. The comic is expected to hit stores on May 6, 2023, in celebration of Free Comic Book Day 2023, and will be available digitally at a later date.

What To Expect From The Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Prequel Comic
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated game releases for 2023, and Insomniac Games is gearing up to ensure fans are caught up before release.
A free prequel comic written by Marvel’s Spider-Man writer Christos Gage and drawn by Ig Guara will be released for Free Comic Book Day 2023 on May 6, 2023. In this comic, Peter, Miles, and MJ attempt must balance their responsibilities to the city as well as their personal lives as a new villain emerges to threaten the city: The Hood!
This marks the debut of the classic Spider-Man villain in Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, who made his first appearance in Hood #1, created by writer Brian K. Vaughan in July 2002.
The prequel comic will be released in participating comic book stories or available to download digitally via the Marvel Unlimited app, or Marvel.com come May 6.
In other news, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will be available as a standalone purchase on PlayStation Store later this month.
Previously included exclusively as part of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, it will be its own individual release.Â
Owners of the original Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 can upgrade to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PS5 console for only $10. Subsequently, Owners of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales can still obtain Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered by upgrading to the Ultimate Edition through the main menu of the PS5 version.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is expected to be released sometime in late 2023.
