We got a good look at Kayuza Mishima from Tekken as the latest, and as it turns out, the penultimate character added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, thanks to Mr. Masahiro Sakurai himself. We had a brief glimpse at Kazuya in Nintendo’s E3 2021 Direct presentation, but today’s showing gave us much more of an understanding of his moveset, the bread and butter of any fighting game character.
There was more information in store than just the in-depth look of Kazuya, we also learned when he will make his debut into the world of Super Smash Bros. Funnily enough, it’s not long at all – players can download him starting tomorrow. If you are already subscribed to the Fighters Pass Vol 2, you will be able to download him for no additional cost – otherwise’s that’s an additional $6 USD, please. Getting the Fighters Pass Vol 2 will allow you to get the four previous characters released for it if you hadn’t got them already, at a cost of $30 USD. So far, those characters are Min Min from ARMS, Steve & Alex from Minecraft, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, Pyra/Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and now Kazuya from Tekken. There is still one more slot to fill, and it turns out that whoever gets selected from the wide gaming pantheon will be the last character added to Smash Bros Ultimate.
Dante from the Devil May Cry series was a name that many had as a possible option in Smash Bros. Ultimate after Kazuya, although his presence as a Mii costume unveiled within the same presentation has presumably answered those rumors, much to fan despair. Joining Dante as Mii costume options are the Dragonborn from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia, and Shantae from the series of the same name. The costumes will launch tomorrow as well, for 75 cents each.
