Have you have ever wanted to know what it was like to control time and aging to solve puzzles? Then the newest game from Team17 and One More Dream Studios is perfect for you. Ageless is the newest puzzle game made from the collaboration of Team17 and One More Dream Studios, a Malaysian developer. It is currently in production for the Nintendo Switch and PC.
Players get to be a young woman, named Kiara, who gains the ability to control time and aging through an ancient, magical bow. Kiara’s journey in Ageless is fraught with danger and causes her to struggle with both herself and her environment. Throughout this puzzle game, Kiara learns to master her newfound artifact. The bow gives her the ability to age her surroundings by shooting them. Shooting them sends them through different ages: young, prime, and old. Mastering these powers is what makes this game so intriguing.
Key Features of Ageless
- The ability to age plants and animals: Kiara can age flora and fauna through various stages of their life cycle and solve the puzzles standing in her way.
- Platforming: This game allows players to use their environment to master challenges. While ‘ageless’ players can use their environment as they move through the air, consuming the life force and aging the environment during gameplay.
- Unique worlds: Unique plants and animals are found everywhere and feature specialized graphics and a hand-drawn pixel style art.
- Collectables: As players work to become ‘ageless’ they can uncover hidden items through complex hidden challenges.
Bala Vicknesh, a lead developer of Ageless, said,
“I’m excited to partner with Team17 on Ageless, a publisher that has been an advocate of unique indie titles for many years. Ageless has been lovingly crafted over an amazing couple of years, and now that we’re nearing the finish line, it’s been magical seeing all the pieces come together. I can’t wait for people to experience Kiara’s journey.”
“Ageless has found itself a home within the walls of Team17. We are excited to help in the development and publishing of this distinctive puzzle platformer,” in a statement from Max Everingham, Head of Publishing Team17.
A demo for Ageless will be playable at the Team17 booth at PAX East 2020.
I’m a polymath, writer, and an all-around nerd. If it involves gaming, anime/manga, or comics I probably have an opinion on it. I love spending time with my dog, Jester, and reading anything that sparks my fancy.
