Matthew Perry‘s October 28 death continues to send shockwaves through the celebrity space. The much-loved sitcom star passed away tragically at the age of 54 at the end of last month after being found unresponsive in his hot tub.
As fans and Matthew’s former costars continue to mourn his loss, interviews from the actor are coming out of the woodwork. When they involve the 1994-2004 Friends sitcom he starred in, everyone’s clicking the headline. Way back in 2004, Perry opened up about which of the hit series’ episodes was his favorite. He starred in all 236 episodes.
Matthew Perry Revealed Favorite ‘Friends’ Episode
Speaking to EW, Matthew revealed that his favorite episode was actually one seeing him speak the least. The funnyman behind the adored character Chandler Bing stated that the Season 1 “The One with the Blackout” episode was his favorite.
“The interesting thing about that episode was I didn’t speak much; it was mostly in voiceover,” he said. “We prerecorded what I said, and I had to react.” The episode famously sees on-screen character Chandler Bing stuck in an ATM vestibule with model Jill Goodacre. Chandler doesn’t say much, although fans do hear the hilarious thoughts going through his head as he contemplates making conversation with Jill.
‘Frozen In Fear And Embarrassment’
In a separate interview, Matthew revealed:
“Let’s face it: Jill Goodacre is hot, so it wasn’t that difficult,” continuing: “I [remember] spitting my gum out, and it stuck to the wall. It was my choice to just stay frozen in fear and embarrassment. … What was great about that night was that I was also able to watch the other three quarters of the show, which was these five great actors doing ensemble work that was amazing. This was the first time I realized, ‘Gee, this is really clicking.’”
Matthew’s cause of death is still pending following toxicology reports which have not yet been processed. Law enforcement arriving at his Pacific Palisades home on October 28 confirmed that no illegal drugs were on the premises. Likewise, they did not suspect any foul play.
Matthew’s Friends costars have left personal tributes to the actor on social media. All five also attended his private funeral, held shortly after his death. Fans, meanwhile, continue to leave tributes on Matthew’s Instagram. His final photo proved a haunting one for everyone. It showed him chilling in hit hot tub late at night.
