Maximum Football 2020 Unveils Dynasty Mode 2.0

Maximum Football 2020 is coming back this fall and the development team behind the college football and Canadian football series is dedicated to continuing to improve its title along the way. To that end, Spear Interactive announced on Friday what it is calling “Dynasty Mode 2.0,” alongside a new play editor mode.

At the forefront of the revamped dynasty mode is a new sim engine. This is said to take play-calling tendencies. That means if players are going up against a team that is supposed to be “run first” you won’t see them putting the ball in the air 40 times a game. The engine is also supposed to deliver more accurate states, even if you’re swimming quarters set to five minutes.

Outside of gameday, Maximum Football 2020 is boasting there will be updated news and headlines in-universe that are aimed at making the dynasty a bit more immersive. The player models for recruits are also said to be more realistic than they have been in previous generations. Spear promises this means the end to quarterbacks that are 5’11 and weighing in at 285 pounds.

There are also going to be more things to do and earn in the new dynasty mode, including seasonal awards and rankings. The game is going to be offering even more bowl games and a better way to handle your depth chart.

Maximum Football 2019 was the dev team’s first foray into trying to put together a college football video game. As should have been expected, there were more than a few bumps in the road. What is clear is the group working on this game would love for it to eventually be a replacement for the NCAA Football franchise that might never be back.

The team is promising changes, including a new in-game engine. We’ll see whether or not Maximum Football 2020 can deliver when it arrives this fall on the Xbox One and PS4.
