The former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama will make a cameo in the final season of ABC’s Black-ish. She will make her grand appearance for the series’ upcoming eighth and final season in 2022. Black-ish shared the news of Michelle Obama’s cameo earlier today in a tweet. As of now, it’s unclear how she’ll interact with the Johnsons when she plays herself. The cameo of Michelle Obama is something to look forward to. Kenya Barris created and executive produced Black-ish starting in 2014 with ABC loosely based on his own life. Due to creative differences in 2018, Barris discontinued his collaboration with ABC.

Courtney Lilly is the showrunner and executive producer of Black-ish. Laura Gutin Peterson, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, E. Brian Dobbins and Michael Petok, produce the series as well. It’s under ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, along with 20th Television and Touchstone Television. ABC renewed Black-ish for its eighth and final season in May 2021.
The former First Lady, Michelle Obama, will make a splash for fans of the series. She is no stranger to show business. Through her and Barack Obama’s work via Higher Ground Productions, she has executive producer credits: Netflix’s We the People, Waffles + Mochi, Ada Twist, and Scientist. Michelle Obama has also made a cameo in Parks and Recreation.
The Final Season of ABC’s Black-ish, Obama’s Cameo is Just a Bonus
The end of ABC’s Black-ish is the end of an era. The series showed issues that people of the black community from different socioeconomic backgrounds experienced. They would show these lessons in inventive and often hilarious ways. Stacey Abrams, Zendaya, Rashida Jones, and Daveed Diggs starred in the series long before Michelle Obama, former First Lady of the U.S. The series has earned many accolades during its run. It has been one of ABC’s most popular shows. It has spawned two spin-off series: Grown-ish and Mixed-ish. Yara Shahidi’s show Grown-ish is still going strong. Unfortunately, Mixed-ish was canceled after two seasons. Fans have loved the amusing dynamics of the Johnson family and will be sad to see it go. At least they can look forward to Obam’s cameo this coming season.
There is no set date for the series’ 2022 premiere.
