The Micronauts are returning from the edges of Inner Space with a series of new Omnibus collections. The Microverse: The Original Marvel Years collection reprints the entire original run of the Micronauts comic for the very first time. This news comes days after Marvel and Hasbro announced an exciting collaboration. Also, as part of this new deal, a new facsimile edition of The Micronauts #1 goes on sale in September.
The Micronauts Return From The Microverse!
Earlier this week, Marvel and Hasbro announced a new collaboration that would see the reprint of Rom the Spaceknight’s comic book escapades. Now, the Micronauts are joining him with their very own Omnibus reprints. These Marvel heroes starred in their own long-running series back in the day. The comics were filled with wonderful world-building, a rich mythology, and some big-scale sci-fi fun. They even joined forces with some of Marvel’s biggest names, like the X-Men and Fantastic Four.
Comic icon Bill Mantlo wrote the original Micronauts comics. Mantlo’s stories are being reprinted for the first time in Micronauts: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus. While the collection is not out until April of next year, this September, fans can nab a facsimile edition of Micronauts’ debut comic, The Micronauts #1.
Collecting The Subatomic Superheroes!
This first volume of this Omnibus collection brings together The Micronauts #1-29 and Annual #1-2. Plus, material from The Micronauts Special Edition #1-5. Of course, Bill Mantlo’s words bring these microscopic heroes’ adventures to life. However, Michael Golden’s amazing artwork helps solidify the series as an instant classic.
For those unfamiliar with the heroes and their comics, the team consists of five superheroes. They are Commander Rann, Princess Mari, Biotron, Acroyear, and Bug. Together, this group travels through the universe in a microship known as the Endeavor. All in the hopes of freeing their homeworld from the villainous Baron Karza. Meanwhile, the facsimile edition in September will represent the debut comic to the world.
If you missed the original 1979 run of this series, now is the perfect time to discover these amazing heroes!
