The date is close; Microsoft stops Windows 10 sales. The new operating system brings a modern design with rounded assets and provides a more efficient experience for touchscreens. The new OS was mostly loved by the community; it’s likely an operating system for tablets, but the OS allows you to customize the design a lot. Windows 11 offers an expandable experience, and probably that’s how it’s accepted by the community. And now, Microsoft has stopped Windows 10 sales to focus on their new generation operating system.
Windows 10 was released in 2015 and continued its up-to-date until 2021. There were a few problems with Windows 11 at the launch, but they were mostly fixed. Windows 11 is enough to provide the best experience for everyone. But on the other hand, this might cause compatibility problems with old systems.
Microsoft Stops Selling Windows 10 To Focus on Windows 11
The news may sound bad, but it’s not the end for Windows 10. The OS will keep getting security updates and support until October 2025. The only problem is that Microsoft won’t be distributing Windows 10 anymore unless you buy a license before January 31. Here’s the full statement that came from the company:
“January 31, 2023, will be the last day this Windows 10 download is offered for sale. Windows 10 will remain supported with security updates that help protect your PC from viruses, spyware, and other malware until October 14, 2025.”
Windows 11 is great, but it’s not the friend of old computers. The computers produced before 2015 could face compatibility issues, and the fixes are limited to this. Considering Windows 10 won’t be a choice soon, you better update your systems to the new components. Windows 11 only works with the selected processors and the TPM 2.0 chip. These requirements might still be heavy, but the options are getting fewer with time. If you’re planning to buy Windows 10 license from Microsoft, you better get it as soon as possible.
