Netflix recently released the first trailer for the Mike Myers-led series Pentaverate, which sees the comedic actor playing eight roles. Set to hit the streaming service on May 5, the new series will see a journalist who aims to make a name for himself.
Pentaverate and the Return of Mike Myers
Pentaverate tells the story of a man who discovers a secret society that has been manipulating the world from the shadows. This group dates all the way back to the Black Plague, and they’re known as the Pentaverate. Now caught in the web of trouble, it’s up to the journalist set the truth free and save the world from another terrible global decision. You can catch some of the shenanigans with the film’s official teaser.
As you might suspect, Myers will be playing the main character in Pentaverate, along with seven other supporting roles. Coupled with his trademark usage of makeup and accents, Myers has also created and produced the series with Tim Kirkby directing the six-episode limited series. The supporting cast includes Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Debi Mazar, Richard McCabe, Jennifer Saunders, and Lydia West.
The Austin Powers and Saturday Night Live actor hasn’t dabbled much in acting for a bit. His most recent appearances include Bohemian Rhapsody and a Superbowl ad that saw him briefly return as Dr. Evil. He previously hosted The Gong Show as Tommy Maitland from 2017 to 2018. There are some talks for a new Austin Powers film, but it might have been shelved due to the loss of Verne Troyer.
The new show will see the return of Mike Myers in a film or show. Pentaverate will start streaming this May 5 on Netflix. With some of the characters that we can briefly see in the footage, which one stood out to you the most? Is Pentaverate on your radar? Let us know!
