The hype train for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales keeps on rolling. The game’s release is just a month away. And Titan Books is releasing some tie-in media for fans to eat up. The publisher will release a prequel novel titled Wings of Fury, written by Brittney Morris (SLAY), on November 10th. Titan will also publish an official art book for the game in February of 2021. IGN revealed the book covers and details earlier today.
Wings of Fury will be 288 pages long and cost $16. It’s unclear how long before Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales the book takes place. But the announcement did come with an official description:
With an exclusive adventure leading directly into the game itself, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – Wings of Fury features Miles Morales coming to terms with what it means to be Spider-Man. A mix-up with the law leaves Miles questioning everything and when Vulture and his accomplice Starling unleash experimental tech on Marvel’s New York, Miles must decide what kind of hero he wants to be.”
Matt Ralphs is writing Titan’s Miles Morales art book. Much like many other video game art books, it will include concept art, in-game renders, and notes from artists and developers at Insomniac, PlayStation, and Marvel.
The hardback book will be 192 pages and cost $39.95. This won’t be the first time Titan has released Spider-Man content. It previously published two prequel novels and an art book for 2018’s Spider-Man as well. The first prequel novel, Hostile Takeover, dealt with Kingpin and led directly into the game.
Last month’s gameplay trailer for Miles Morales revealed the Tinkerer as the main villain, but we may see her goals tie in with Vulture and Starling’s actions here. Starling is a relatively new character, having been introduced in 2019’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man #5. It is later revealed that she is the granddaughter of Vulture. Considering the events of Hostile Takeover played a big part in the 2018 game, we may have just been given a little more plot information on the upcoming title.
