Minecraft Dungeons, while not exactly revolutionary for the action RPG genre, has seen considerable success since its release just over a year ago. It had some rough edges, but there was no lack of fun factor in the title, clearly proven by the game’s steady stream of DLC packs. From the woven mysteries of the game’s jungle to the chilly landscapes of the icy tundra, each DLC has provided something unique while also bringing more to the game’s free-to-play base. Surprisingly enough, the game’s next DLC looks to take players to a land you’d be surprised to see not featured yet. Today, Mojang has announced that Minecraft Dungeons will venture into the End with the upcoming Echoing Void DLC, releasing July 28!
After ridding the Overworld of corruption, our band of heroes has decided to bring the conclusion to it once and for all by venturing into the End, destroying the source itself. As such, players will venture into this dimension, fighting across iconic locations such as the large, Endstone-covered islands and vibrant purple End cities. All of this, in a quest to stop multiple threats (you heard me, multiple!) from looking to put an end to your way of life. The team wants to enforce though that this update is not the end of Minecraft Dungeons, it’s merely the end of the story arc spanning well over a year at this point. You don’t have to put down the game just yet.
And as always, those of you not looking to purchase the Echoing Void DLC for Minecraft Dungeons can still get something out of the release. With this release comes the Gauntlet of Gales update, bringing with it not only some powerful enchantments, but a new maze mission as well, looking to truly test your skills in battle. Be ready though, as only the strongest heroes will brave the gauntlet and score some sweet rewards. There’s plenty to look forward to, no matter what kind of player you are!
Minecraft Dungeons is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. For more information regarding the upcoming DLC, check out the official blog post.
