As with most other Monster Hunter Rise hunting maps, Lava Caverns debuted in this particular entry. However, new to Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise, Capcom added the new Sub-camps system, additional camps in hunting areas that let you restock items, and even grab meals to restore health and stamina in the middle of a hunt. You can also fast-travel to any of the Sub-camp to make chasing monsters or finding specific items faster. Like in other maps, there are camps that you can unlock in Lava Caverns as well.
Monster Hunter Rise Lava Caverns Sub-Camp Locations
But before you can utilize these convenient camps, you must first find their locations and do some chores to unlock them. In total, including the Main Camp (which is unlocked instantly together with the hunting map), there are three camps in Lava Caverns. Two of them you must find first. Let’s see where it’s hiding as well as how to unlock them.
Sub-Camp 1
It is located in the northern part of Area 10. Near the camp, there are Iridescent Ore and Scorched Ore, making the camp part of the route to farming 300.000 Zenny fast. After dropping by the area, to unlock it you need to talk to Kagero the Merchant and do the Lava Caverns Sub-camp Security request:
- Slay 8 Uruktor in the Lava Caverns area.
Sub-Camp 2
From Sub-Camp 1, you can get there by traveling via a Great Wirebug nearby. Or if you come from the Main Camp just go to Area 2 and look for a broken bridge. Wirebug past the gap and you will instantly see the camp spot. Near the camp entrance, there are Honey and a Thunderbug. To unlock it you need to talk to Kagero the Merchant and do the Lava Caverns Sub-camp Materials request:
- Get 1x Tetranadon Hide.
- And 2x Monster Bone L.
That’s all you need to do. Quite simple and easy, right? Monster Hunter Rise is now available on Nintendo Switch, and coming to PC via Steam sometime in early 2022.
