The Zinogre Plate is a rare Monster Material in Monster Hunter Rise used for crafting Zinogre Mail and the Spread Jewel 3. This resource is also required to upgrade the Usurper’s weapon set to the second rank, such as Usurper’s Crime II, Usurper Boltslicer II, or Usurper’s Thunder II. Naturally, the Zinogre Plate is acquired from the Zinogre, a Fanged Wyvern with a body imbued with electricity. The Zinogre is quick and agile for its size and can absorb the electricity from Thunderbugs to enhance its power. Farming Zinogre Plates in Monster Hunter Rise
To farm Zinogre Plates in Monster Hunter Rise, Hunters must attempt to break the Horns or carve the Tail of a Zinogre in a High-Rank Hunt. To break the Horns, players must use heavy blunt attacks on the Monster’s head. As for carving the Tail, players must deal substantial slicing damage on the Zinogre’s Tail to cut it off.

When breaking both Horns off of the Zinogre, there’s a 3% chance that the Zinogre Plate in MHR will drop during combat. However, once the hunt has been completed, there’s a 7% chance that the rare Monster Material will be a Broken Part Reward. Similarly, there’s a 7% possibility that carving a severed Tail of the Zinogre will grant the Zinogre Plate. While this percent-based chance might seem abysmally low, it is actually the highest probability compared to other methods such as Capture’s 5% or Palico Pilfering’s 2%.Â
While it is somewhat possible to break or cut Monster Parts with most weapons in Monster Hunter Rise, there are particular armaments that excel in their unique field. For example, the Hammer and Hunter Horn are excellent choices for smashing the Horns off of a Zinogre. Their blunt damage can also knock out the Monster, stunning it in place for several seconds. As for tail severing, the Great Sword and Long Sword are ideal for effective slicing. However, specialized weaponry isn’t the only way players can attempt to get the Zinogre Plate in MHR. Hunters can also utilize other Monsters using the Wirebug-mounting mechanic to smash Zinogre into a wall or slash the beast with another Monster’s claws. Although the damage might not be as focused as a player weapon, the potential damage another Monster can deal is undoubtedly enough to break multiple parts off of Zinogre, granting a slight chance for the Zinogre Plate to drop.
Monster Hunter Rise is available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
