Capcom just released a launch trailer for Monster Hunter Rise on PC. The popular RPG was originally released on the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021, and this new PC release will finally allow players to experience the game in 4K. Check out the Monster Hunter Rise PC launch trailer below.
Monster Hunter Rise is a slightly simplified take on Monster Hunter World which was released in 2018. The result has been an easy-to-play experience that far surpassed many fans’ expectations. It is certainly easy to log over 100 hours in the creature-fighting game.
Monster Hunter Rise follows many of the conventions previously established in its predecessor, World. However, the 2021 game also takes strides in introducing new game features and mechanics such as a new animal companion called a Palamute. Previous animal companions have fought alongside players, but the Palamute can be ridden into battle and across the map. The introduction of Wirebugs is also new as they allow players to traverse the world and mount/ride some monsters.
For those who don’t know, the Monster Hunter franchise predominantly allows players to take on the role of Hunter. From there, gamers are tasked with slaying or capturing a myriad of different large monsters using various weapons and tools. Upon completion of a mission, players are given loot which usually comes in the form of monster parts that can be used to forge new weapons and armor.
Best played in multi-player, the Monster Hunter franchise has been a longtime favorite in Japan but has only recently grown in popularity in the US and Europe. Monster Hunter Rise coming to PC bodes well for the series and should signify it’s here to stay. To date, the game has sold over 7.5 million copies around the world, making it the second best-selling Monster Hunter game in the franchise. It will be interesting to see how high that number soars with a PC version on the market.
Monster Hunter Rise is already available on the Nintendo Switch and will launch on PC on January 12, 2022.
