Capcom has officially confirmed that the upcoming DLC for Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak will have a release date of June 30, 2022, the announcement made during the March 15, 2022, live-streamed presentation. It will be available for Nintendo Switch and PC.

Livestream Highlights
During the live stream, Capcom showcased a variety of features that will be available in the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak DLC, including the return of various monsters. These include the Fanged Beast Garangolm, which uses both fire and water attacks; the Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, which covers its body in ice to act as body armor; the Blood Orange Bishaten, which throws exploding pine cones; and Astalos, the Flying Wyvern that can generate electricity to power its attacks. Players will battle these creatures in Sunbreak’s new Citadel area and the woods and mountains surrounding it.
What can we expect to see with this new DLC for Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak?
The official website has also been updated to showcase the new information from the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak presentation, including new abilities, locales characters, the variety of monsters players will encounter in the new world and all the bonus content that will be available to players when the DLC launches. The official description of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak provided by Capcom reads:
“The threat befalling the Kingdom is closely linked to powerful creatures inspired by staples of Western horror known as the Three Lords. This cadre includes the newly unveiled Garangolm, the chilling Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and the Elder Dragon Malzeno. In addition to these nightmarish new foes, other monster variants and returning fan-favorites, including Blood Orange Bishaten and the mighty Astalos, will emerge to challenge hunters in the added Master Rank quest difficulty. Researching the behavior of the Three Lords will take hunters across the Kingdom to exciting new locales, including the newly-unveiled Citadel. This locale boasts snow-swept peaks cascading down to lush forests teeming with new forms of endemic life. At the center of this vast region sits a long-abandoned fortress that serves as a bastion for the very monsters it was built to keep out.”
Capcom also included an imp0ortnatu date regarding the release of Monster Hunter rise Sunvreak on their website. After the launch of the DLC, players will need to download a major update to coincide with the release. Players who have yet to purchase the expansion will still be able to enjoy some of the new content with this update, such as free items packs and vouchers and the expected size of 13Gb. It should be noted players will also need to download this update to play online.
