Monster Hunter Stories 2 Details 2021 Post-Launch Update Roadmap

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, the RPG spin-off of the Monster Hunter action series, is releasing simultaneously soon for Switch and PC on July 9 next week. To celebrate the occasion, Capcom ran a Special Pre-Launch Program stream today and detailed not just a five-month title update roadmap for Monster Hunter Stories 2 but also giving a quick look at how Co-Op Quest works and some behind-the-scenes info.

Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and Monster Hunter Stories 2 director Kenji Oguro demoed a short Co-op Quest in the Special Pre-Launch Program stream. You can post and access Co-Op Quest from the Multiplayer tab of villages’ Quest Board, either via local or online play. Once inside, both players will be able to roam the quest area freely and get multiple eggs from one expedition. If one player engages an enemy, the other could jump in to help, ignore the fight, look for more eggs, or run away to the exit alone. Quest will be over once the area’s boss, indicated by an on-screen blue marker, is beaten. Monster Hunter Stories 2 Title Update Roadmap

1. July 15, 2021 – 1st Title Update:
   • New Monstie: Palamute from Monster Hunter Rise and ★5 Co-Op Expedition Quest “Palamute Den.” Described as a perfect companion when riding into battle, the fearless Palamutes will soar to the heavens and slice the wind with the throw of a blade. Its Kinship Skill is called Rising Axel.
2. August 5, 2021 – 2nd Title Update:
   • New Monsties: Hellblade Glavenus and Boltreaver Astalos from Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
   • New Co-Op Quest Monster: Kulve Taroth.
3. Early September 2021 – 3rd Title Update:
   • New Monsties: Soulseer Mizutsune and Elderfrost Gammoth from Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. As well as Oroshi Kirin from Monster Hunter 4U.
4. Early September 2021 – 4th Title Update:
   • New Monsties: Dreadking Rathalos and Molten Tigrex from Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
   • New Co-Op Quest Monster: Kulve Taroth (High Difficulty).
5. October 2021 – 5th Title Update:
   • New Monsties: Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian from Monster Hunter Freedom.
   • New Co-Op Quest Monster: ???. Possibly Fatalis or Alatreon.
