Last week, lots of exciting announcements came from Tokyo Game Show 2017. Square Enix announced a new title, Left Alive, Final Fantasy IX became available on the PlayStation 4, and, most importantly, the new Monster Hunter World announced an official release date of early next year.
The newest addition to the Monster Hunter franchise will release worldwide on January 26, 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. They also announced that the title will be available on PC at a later date, but there was no word on when it will release. Capcom announced that Monster Hunter World will receive the customized console treatment. The PlayStation 4 Pro Monster Hunter World: Liolaeus Edition will actually release before the game in Japan on December 7, 2017. However, it is uncertain as to whether the console will get a worldwide release as of right now.
As is the tradition, those who preorder Monster Hunter World, digitally or in-store, will receive a few extra goodies. These bonuses will include “the Origin Set Armor and the Fair Wind Charm talisman.” Capcom announced that these extras will benefit the player early on with boosted stats and useful gathering skills. This will also include an exclusive PlayStation 4 theme.
The new trailer shows off some of the newest landscapes including the Ecology Research Station and the Coral Highlands. However, the monsters definitely take the cake. The monsters vary from momentarily adorable to quite terrifying; it’s safe to say that fans are excited.
Monster Hunter World was announced during Sony’s E3 conference this past summer. This open-world adventure allows you to, obviously, hunt down monsters. By killing monsters, you gain items to make better weapons and armour to help you on your monster hunting journey.
