No, you aren’t reading a bizarre mad libs title. While Fred Durst is best known as the lead singer of Limp Bizkit and John Travolta for his action roles, the two are teaming up for a surreal upcoming Thriller, titled Moose.
Moose centers around an obsessed mullet-wearing film fan named Moose. Played by Travolta, the super fan stalks his favorite action hero and destroys the star’s life. The film will be Durst’s third official feature film.
“I think Fred did an extraordinary job writing this and directing,” Travolta tells ET Canada’s Roz Weston on the Los Angeles set of the movie. “He’s a top artist. This guy is the real deal. He has the qualities and attributes that all the great directors have.”
Devon Sawa will star alongside the Pulp Fiction star, playing the aforementioned star who Travolta’s character has a slight obsession with. Sawa, who has been acting in film and television for almost three decades, has had a lot of character acting roles in the past.
Ironically, Sawa is probably best known for his own role as a stalker. Back in 2000, he starred in iconic rapper Marshall “Eminem” Mathers’ music video “Stan.” In the video, Sawa was obsessed with Eminem, penning multiple letters to the rapper, with each new one ramping up in tone from the last one. Stan ends up killing himself and his pregnant girlfriend at the end of the music video, blaming Shady for not responding to his letters.
Interestingly enough, Moose is also a film that is loosely based on events from Durst’s own life.
Moose doesn’t have an exact release date, outside of IMDB listing 2018, but the preview pictures certainly have captured our attention. For more information, be sure to check back to the site for updates, as well as all of your other nerdy news and needs!
