Known for gaming computers with very unusual designs, MSI has finally announced a small-sized computer. MSI introduces the MAG Trident S 5M; a desktop PC specialized for cloud gaming in a compact console format. Trident S 5M is actually a desktop computer, but its design and pre-installed applications make it possible to play games in the living room.
MAG Trident S 5M is developed to look and act like a game console. It looks very similar to the Xbox One S at first glance. However, when we take a look at its technical specifications, it is not difficult to realize that the Trident S is not like the Xbox.
MSI MAG Trident S 5M Specification
First of all, MSI’s new gaming PC doesn’t have a discrete graphics card. MSI MAG Trident S 5M is powered by AMD Ryzen 7 5700G / 5 5600G / 3 5300G APU processor and up to 64 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM with 3200 MHz. FidelityFX Super Resolution technology is said to help the integrated Radeon graphics and increase the frames per second by 2.4 times.
It also has two M.2 slots and one HDD drive bay for Gen 3 or 4 SSD compatibility. On the front, there is a connection for USB 3.2 Gen2 Type A and C, a microphone, and headphones.
MSI Game Stadium app aims to provide quick access to games from Xbox and Steam apps. On the other hand, MSI App Player can be preferred to play mobile games via Android emulation.
- MSI App Player: Emulates an Android system within a Windows 11. This makes it easy to play mobile games on a big screen.
- MSI Game Stadium: Through Game Stadium, users can access the integrated Xbox and Steam app. This allows the Game Stadium app to access Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Steam library.
What is the Price of MSI MAG Trident S 5M?
Although Trident S 5M has just launched, it seems a little hard to find to buy. MSI’s product page says stock is empty and doesn’t give any prices. However, according to PC Gamer, an option with a 512GB SSD on Vaosia is on sale for $1149. Although the official price has not been announced, we think a bit expensive for an entry-level gaming PC without a graphics card.
