Warner Bros. Discovery, ever since the merger, has been on a cancellation spree for major projects. One of the most recent is Batgirl, and further rumors about Supergirl getting the same treatment soon. But not all plans have been scrapped, as Superman’s new animated series called My Adventures With Superman is still coming to Cartoon Network by next year.
My Adventures With Superman was announced last year during a WarnerMedia presentation along with Batman: Caped Crusader. Hopefully, the upcoming shows will give the new generation a taste of the best DC has to offer.
My Adventures With Superman Canceled?
The concerns about My Adventures With Superman being canceled were indeed warranted, but luckily that will not happen anytime soon. The confirmation came from Josie Campbell, the producer of My Adventures With Superman, when she had an AMA on Reddit. She also confirmed that the show would air on Cartoon Network next year.
Yes, My Adventures With Superman is still slated to come out next year on Cartoon Network and the app! Get ready.
Content directed towards kids and families has become part of the cost-saving measures put in place by Warner Bros. Discovery. The CFO of Warner Bros. Discovery, Gunner Widenfels, said during an earnings call that kids and animation-based projects, whether streamed or traditional, could be axed regardless of an investment case against them. Fortunately for Superman fans, the upcoming animated series My Adventures With Superman is still on track even after falling into the category.
The series has quite the voice acting talent behind it, with Jack Quaid from The Boys becoming the voice of Clark Kent and Alice Lee voicing Lois Lane.
Superman and Batman have remained the most iconic superheroes since the golden age of comics. With the new generation in mind, a new animated series for each could make for some great memories. Who knows, maybe these shows will be as beloved as Batman, The Animated Series, and Justice League one day.
