Amid his current health scare, fans are begging My Hero Academia author Kohei Horikoshi to focus on rest. These concerns stem from the fact that since December 2022, the author has been on hiatus several times due to a drop in his health. The My Hero Academia manga series is currently in the middle of a two-week hiatus. It is scheduled to return to publication on March 26th.
Please, let this poor man rest. https://t.co/iksLdGnIOs

Horikoshi sensei has been trending nationally for 3 hrs (highest 20th in the main trend?) in Japan since the mha official acc tweeted about his health.
Many fans are quoting the line "the worst is we lost sensei" from no.277 by Deku to beg shonen jump to let hori rest. #堀越先生 pic.twitter.com/6cd5dPx2cb

The manga’s most recent chapter, “Don’t Let Him Go,” was released on March 2nd. Because of Horikoshi’s health, MHA fans are concerned that the artist is compromising his health by continuously returning to work on the My Hero Manga. After a recent tweet from Weekly Shonen Jump regarding Horikoshi’s condition, My Hero Academia fans took to Twitter to criticize the publication for not allowing the artist adequate leaves of absence leading up to the hiatus.
Although a lot of fans want Horikoshi to focus on his health, the author appears to be motivated to continue publishing. He even assured fans that he was ok publishing the manga on an irregular basis. In addition to the breaks he took in 2022, Horikoshi also took two leaves in 2021. After, he apologized. However, based on previous statements, Horikoshi may be planning to end the series soon. When the results of the manga’s 8th popularity poll came out, he mentioned that it would likely be the last popularity poll for the series. But, he did not mention his health or explicitly state that he was working on the My Hero Academia finale.
Horikoshi and My Hero Academia: A Dear Series to the Author
Horokoshi first launched the My Hero Academia manga in July 2014. It was published in Weekly Shonen Jump, with Viz Media handling serialization in the west (both physical and digital release). Most recently, the manga’s 37th book volume was released and shipped in Japan on Friday. Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service also publishes the manga digitally in English. Since its release, the manga has sold over 65 million physical copies worldwide.
Currently, the anime’s sixth season premiered on October 1st. The season is scheduled to air for two continuous quarters of a year (totaling a half-year) for a total of 25 episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan, with the English dub following a few days after. Toonami is also airing the anime on its programming block.
All past episodes and OVA’s of My Hero Academia are available to stream on Funimation, Hulu and Crunchyroll.
