My Time at Sandrock Crane Lift

Shortly after starting your My Time at Sandrock adventures and becoming an official builder, you are tasked with building a Crane Lift for the Picking Up the Slack quest. The Crane Lift is the first large structure you create, so it may seem intimidating at first. This guide will provide information on making the Crane Lift in My Time at Sandrock Early Access.

How to Make a Crane Lift in My Time at Sandrock

Sandrock Crane Lift

There are five different materials you need to build the Crane Lift:

  1. Bricks x8 – Obtained by smelting Stone x32 or recycling Stone Scrap
  2. Wooden Stick x5 – Obtained by crafting with Wood x15 or by recycling Wood Scrap
  3. Thick Rope x6 – Obtained by crafting with Plant Fiber x24
  4. Bearing x4 – Obtained by recycling Mechanical Scrap
  5. Copper Stick x5 – Obtained by recycling Copper Scrap or using a Processor

Materials such as bricks, wooden sticks, bearings and copper sticks are all obtainable by recycling scrap in a Recycler. However, building a Furnace will help speed up the process by allowing you to smelt stone into bricks. This is particularly useful if you only have one or two Recyclers and want to save time by prioritizing Mechanical and Copper scraps. Similarly, if you have an overabundance of wood, you can use it to craft wooden sticks instead.

One of the more challenging materials to obtain is Thick Rope. Before you make it, you must get the crafting recipe from the Commerce Guild. Enter Commerce Guild and turn right until you find a cash register. Interact with it to find a shop full of crafting recipe books. Buy the Thick Rope recipe and head back to your Workshop. If you have enough Plant Fiber, you can now craft the rope needed for the Crane Lift. You can find Plant Fibers from Sand Flowers, Sand Grass, Yellow Lavender and Yakthorn bushes.

Once you obtain each material, you’ll be ready to assemble the Crane Lift. Head to your Assembly Station and select the Crane Lift in the list of machines. Click Assemble to find a highlighted Crane Lift on the Assembly Station platform. Interact with it by pressing “E” to add each resource. After adding each part, interact with it again to add the Crane Lift to your inventory. Bring it back to Eufaula Salvage and install it at the quest market to unlock access to the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins.

My Time at Sandrock Early Access is available starting May 26, 2022, on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
